Google’s New Search Functions Only Available in Japan
Earlier this week, Google announced two new search functions. One of which is only available in Japan. The search functions typically become available in the US market first unless made available globally.
- Google Now Cast – This is a numerical weather prediction service using a new neural weather model. With AI, it provides the forecast including rain/snowfalls. Google said that it could provide the weather forecast for every 5 minutes up to 12 hours ahead. This service is already available in the US and Europe. The service will begin in Japan in July.
- Hashtag Search – This search function is already available in Japan, and only in Japan at this time. This functionality was made available in response to the desire to quickly find the latest trends and niche information.
